From the right cup size to the coffee concentration, there are plenty of elements to nail when brewing the perfect cuppa. So grab a cuppa and watch the video for how to get your Barista on!
Concentrate on the concentration
…Or the extraction, where it’s all about getting the right balance between flavour and strength. If you prefer a bold and intense coffee, opt for a more concentrated brew. Best practice is to brew the first 40mls of the dark elixir (aka all the oils and best elements of the coffee). Because after that? You’re pushing water through the pod which is over extracting (read: mild flavoured coffee).
It’s all in the cup
The size of your cup is another potential factor that can make or break your coffee! While many coffee lovers automatically reach for the biggest cup, using a cup that's too large can dilute the taste (NB: using 2 x coffee pods can fix this!), so the winner? A smaller cup, which is ideal for concentrated coffee (think short blacks!).
Milk it
If you need to lighten up your coffee with milk, use less so it cuts through the coffee, and still delivers a great-tasting strong coffee. Remember too much milk can dilute the coffee (natch!) so the aim is to savour your coffee’s characteristics.
